چکیده

In this paper we present a possible model of adaptive grids for numerical resolution of differential problems, using physical or geometrical properties, as viscosity or velocity gradient of a moving fluid. The relation between the values of grid step and these entities is based on the mathematical scheme offered by the model of scale-free networks, due to Barábasi, so that the step can be connected to the other variables by a constitutive relation. Some examples and an application are discussed, showing that this approach can be further developed for treatment of more complex situations. 1 A scale-free network model for adaptive grids We consider a differential problem of advective viscous flow in a domain Ω, and let G a computational grid on Ω with an initial grid step h. We consider a sistem of cartesian coordinates for the representation of the nodes. In 1D the grid is a linear set of nodes, in 2D is a plane surface where nodes are vertices of squares with edge length equal to h, in 3D is a set of adjacent

SEISMIC DESIGN OF DOUBLE LAYER GRIDS BY NEURAL NETWORKS

The main contribution of the present paper is to train efficient neural networks for seismic design of double layer grids subject to multiple-earthquake loading. As the seismic analysis and design of such large scale structures require high computational efforts, employing neural network techniques substantially decreases the computational burden. Square-on-square double layer grids with the va...

Incremental adaptive networks implemented by free space optical (FSO) communication

The aim of this paper is to fully analyze the effects of free space optical (FSO) communication links on the estimation performance of the adaptive incremental networks. The FSO links in this paper are described with two turbulence models namely the Log-normal and Gamma-Gamma distributions. In order to investigate the impact of these models we produced the link coefficients using these distribu...

Adaptive Setting of UFLS Relay Using Hourly Programming with Consideration of Renewable Energy Sources in Smart Grid

In the light of the emergence of smart grids, the functions associated with this type of grids in the blocks of the energy management system require the adoption of robust strategies in order to provide a higher level of control and protection. Under-frequency load shedding (UFLS) sheds load blocks when the frequency drop is below the threshold limit. In adaptive UFLS, in an advanced telecommun...

Spectral densities of scale-free networks.

The spectral densities of the weighted Laplacian, random walk, and weighted adjacency matrices associated with a random complex network are studied using the replica method. The link weights are parametrized by a weight exponent beta. Explicit results are obtained for scale-free networks in the limit of large mean degree after the thermodynamic limit, for arbitrary degree exponent and beta.
